While it may feel like summer has just arrived here in the northern hemisphere, we’re actually just under five months away from the start of another FIS Freeski and Snowboard Park & Pipe World Cup season. This week we’re already looking ahead and getting hyped up for what’s to come
The provisional 2023/24 World Cup calendars for FIS Freeski and FIS Snowboard Park & Pipe are ready to revealed to the world, as the season schedules that were initially presented at the FIS spring meetings in Dubrovnik earlier this month have been tweaked and refined over the past few weeks.
Next winter’s FIS Freeski World Cup calendar will feature full, crystal globe-worthy campaigns in all three events, with five halfpipe, six slopestyle and four big air competitions on the docket for a total of 15 FIS Freeski World Cup competitions in 2023/24.
Meanwhile for Snowboard Park & Pipe we’ll also see full competition slates for all three events, with 14 World Cups set to go down – including five halfpipe, five slopestyle and four big air events.
Next season season will begin once again for both Freeski and Snowboard in the Swiss city of Chur, where one of the biggest parties in all of snowsports will be the backdrop at the Big Air Chur Festival. With two nights of competition taking place on the monolithic scaffold ramp, a plethora of international music acts, and 24,000+ people expected to pass through the gates over the course of the weekend, the Big Air Chur Festival can be counted on to start the season off with a bang again from 20-21 October.
After that it’s Freeski only for the traditional slopestyle season starter in Stubai, where we’ll be on site at the Zoo from 24-25 November.
