Looking ahead to the 2023/24 SBX World Cup calendar

Today we’re looking ahead at the final calendar to be revealed ahead of the 2023/24 FIS Snowboard World Cup season, and with 13 individual races and two mixed team events hitting 10 venues in nine countries on three continents – including four brand-new venues in Switzerland, Georgia, Turkey and Lithuania – next winter’s Snowboard Cross World Cup is shaping up to be an epic one, indeed.

We’ll kick things off once again next season at Les Deux Alpes, the French resort that made its SBX World Cup debut in 2022/23 with a snowy but exciting first showing. We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for some sunny weather for our return next season, where action will be taking place from 01-02 December.

After that it’s a quick hop east through the Alps to Cervinia, where the legendary Italian resort will host SBX World Cup action for the sixth time in the past seven seasons, with competition slated to take place under the Matterhorn from 15-16 December.

With Cervinia in the books we’ll take a holiday break until late January, when we return with the first SBX World Cup of 2024 in one of the most highly anticipated new venues on tour, as from the 25th to the 26th we’ll be on site in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

The St. Moritz competition will be the first World Cup competition at the future Engadine St. Moritz 2025 FIS Freestyle Ski, Snowboard and Freeski World Championships cross venue, and excitement is high for what one of the world’s premier snowsport resorts will bring to the table ahead of their turn as World Champs hosts in 2025.

From there we continue with on with the new World Cup venues in a return to Georgia, where the 2023 World Championships host nation will showcase another gem of their epic mountain ranges with back-to-back races hitting Gudauri from 02-04 February.

After that it’s a trip across the continental divide to Asia, where Turkey’s Kayseri resort is slated to host both individual and mixed team competitions from 09-10 February. This one is currently listed as “to be confirmed,” so stay tuned for more updates closer to the season.

Finally, the fourth of four new venues set to make their World Cup debut in 2023/24 is Lithuania’s Vilnius, with competition scheduled for 17-18 February. While this one is also listed as “to be confirmed” for the time-being, hopes are high and progress is moving well towards locking in what would be the first-ever FIS Snowboard World Cup event hosting turn for the country of Lithuania.
