Gyda Westvold Hansen is also the winner of the second Individual Gundersen in Schonach (GER).

The Overall World Cup leader was already in the lead after the Ski Jumping competition on the Langenwaldschanze HS 100 this morning.

In light fog the Norwegian jumped the furthest distance of the day with 99.5 meters (123.1 pts) in Schonach (GER) and took the lead. Therefore, she was the first one to start into the 5 km at the Wittenbach stadium this afternoon.

Rank 2 after jumping went to Junior World Champion Annika Sieff from Italy, who landed at 95 meters (118.9 pts) and went into the course 17 seconds after Hansen.

Nathalie Armbruster (97 mts, 116.3 pts) placed third, 27 seconds behind the Norwegian.

While Hansen ran another lonely race at the top and extended her lead after 1.2 km to 21.6 sec, Sieff tried to keep up with the Norwegians high speed.

An almost purely German chasing group consisting of Nathalie Armbruster (+40.4 sec), Yuna Kasai (+41.3 sec), Svenja Würth (+42.9 sec) and Jenny Nowak (+43.9 sec) approached from behind, all of whom had a chance of placing on the podium .

Best Skier Ida Marie Hagen (+1 min) tried to close the gap to the group and finally caught up with them after 2.5 km. The Norwegian took the lead from the pursuers and pulled away on the last lap.

She passed Annika Sieff and reduced the gap to Hansen to 37.9 seconds, but in the end she couldn’t be caught. While Hansen got her 16th World Cup victory, Hagen (+30.6 sec) also secured second place for Norway.

Armbruster, Kasai and Sieff reached the stadium together and delivered an exciting finish sprint, which the young German won in front of her home crowd and took third place, 38.7 seconds behind.
