Exciting races on day 2 in Tschagguns

Anna-Sophia Gredler (AUT, Girls 1), Ingrid Laate (NOR, Girls 2), Kenji Grossegger (AUT, Boys 1) and Jan John (CZE, Boys 2) are the winners of today’s FIS Youth Cup in Tschagguns (AUT).
A total of 87 athletes from 11 nations participated on the HS66 in the morning, before competing at the rollerski course in Partenen (AUT) in the afternoon.
While the girls and boys 1, as well as the girls 2 ran a 3.3 km race, the boys 2 participants had to complete a 4.9 km course.
In the girls 1 category, Anna-Sophia Gredler from Austria reached the finish line first, 20.5 seconds ahead of yesterday’s winner Emilia Vidgren from Norway and her team mate Anna Brandner (+20.8 sec).
Vidgen who was in the lead after the Ski Jumping round in the morning took a 21 second lead into the course, but couldn’t defend her lead.
In the girls 2 ranking, Ingrid Laate secured the victory for Norway in a tight finish sprint against her team mate and yesterday’s winner Kjersti Graesli (+1.7 sec). The third rank was taken Brina Susnik (+2.4 sec) from Slovenia.
The Norwegian, who was in the lead after Ski Jumping, defended her 2 second lead until the end.
On the boys side, Kenji Grossegger secured the victory for Austria on home soil, 7.1 seconds ahead of Timon Brglez on rank 2, while Marceau Liardon (+17 sec) secured the 3rd place for France.
Ski Jumping winner David Gruber (+1:17 min) from Austria finished 13th.
The final Youth Cup competition of the weekend, was the boys 2 4.9 km race.
Yesterday’s winner Jan John took home another victory for Czechia after a brilliant catch-up race from rank 12 (+46 sec) after jumping.
He reached the finish in Partenen 10.3 seconds ahead of Lilian Treand from France and Polish Andrzej Waliczek (+11.2 sec).
