Austrian National Champion requires surgery after injury

Austrian National Downhill champion Daniel Danklmaier has experienced a left knee injury while training downhill in Sölden. He experienced pain in the knee after landing an 80-foot jump and could not complete the run.
Danklmaier’s 2021/22 World Cup campaign was his most successful, finishing the season ranked 15th in DH and 19th in SG.
The MRI scan revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a meniscus injury. The 28-year-old world-class athlete was operated on by world-renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Christain Fink.
