Women’s Overall World Cup Standing
Natalia Nepryaeva is the big winner of the FIS Cross-Country season 2021/22. With 973 points, she led the Overall World Cup standing already before the World Cup finals and that score was out of reach for her contenders.
Whom Natalia would share the podium with however was left open until the final race. In the end, Jessie Diggins managed to catch the second place 21 points ahead of Ebba Andersson thanks to her podium finish in todays 10km.
Women’s Distance World Cup Standing
The Distance World Cup globe ended in the hands of Therese Johaug and marked the cherry on top of her outstanding career. 255 points ahead of Frida Karlsson, the Norwegian clearly marked to be the best in class until the very end of her career.
Next up however, Frida Karlsson took the silver medal of the Distance ranking as well as the title of U23 athlete of the season. With those achievements in the books, the 22 year-young can be proud of her season and sets a high standard for the next Olympic term.
Just 10 points off the Overall World Cup podium – but still happy about a successful season, Krista Pärmäkoski completes the Distance Standing in 3rd place.
