Sölden, April 11th 2024 – Lucas Pinheiro Braathen just announced last month that he will compete in the upcoming ski season 2024/25 at the World Cup Races under the Brazilian flag and will fight for the first wins.

Now, the charismatic skier is introducing his team.

Under the leadership of his father Björn, Lucas Pinheiro Braathen has assembled his personal team together with his partners and sponsors. Today, the entire team met for the first time in Sölden, where they found perfect conditions to train and getting great support from Sölden and the Ötztal. They are now ready to start their journey together.

The well experienced ski coaches-match of Peter Lederer and Michael Pircher will ensure the perfect preparation. Peter worked already the first time with Lucas when he was nine years old and now, he is coming back and supports the team with his technical know-how. Michael “Mike” Pircher, who recently worked with the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV), has previously trained former ski star Marcel Hirscher and achieved excellent results. Christian Hoel will reinforce the team as a coach assistant.

In terms of physical fitness, Lucas relies on top experts, entrusting Kurt Kohtbauer in the field of physical training, who previously worked with Marco Odermatt and on top a physiotherapist will complement the team.

Similarly to previous seasons, Lucas will continue his close cooperation with Atomic, building upon the success of previous years. Alongside his current service man, Tor Schjetne, and the team at Atomic, they will continue to fine-tune and work on all matters regarding the ski setup.

The goal of Lucas Pinheiro Braathen is to intensively prepare for the start of the World Cup 2024/25 in Sölden in the coming months, aiming to become the first Brazilian skier to celebrate World Cup victories and to win medals at the Olympic Games and World Championships. The Red Bull Athlete Special Projects (ASP) led by Patrick Riml with the support of Robert Trenkwalder will support him vigorously.
