Following thorough consultations with athletes, teams, and stakeholders involved in the event, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), Swiss-Ski, and the Federazione Italiana Sport Invernali (FISI) have collectively decided not to include Zermatt/Cervinia in the Alpine draft calendar for the 2024/25 season.

For the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons, Zermatt/Cervinia was calendared to host the first cross-border Alpine World Cup races for both men and women. However, these scheduled races couldn’t make history due to unfavorable weather conditions in both seasons.

The decision comes after valuable feedback from athletes and productive discussions with all stakeholders, for which FIS extends its gratitude.

The three federations will utilize the upcoming months to explore possible ways and solutions for hosting future World Cup races in Zermatt and Cervinia. The Local Organizing Committee, Zermatt and Cervinia will thoroughly analyze these proposals to find constructive pathways forward.
