Slopestyle season set for sprint to the finish in Tignes and Silvaplana

After over a month off, the FIS Snowboard slopestyle season is set for a two week sprint to the World Cup finish line, beginning next week in Tignes (FRA) where snowboarding has been added to the Mountain Shaker festival week competition programme for the first time.
The previous – and only – snowboard slopestyle World Cup of the 2023/24 season took place in Laax (SUI) back on 20 January. From there we moved on to Mammoth Mountain (USA) for the U.S. Grand Prix, where slopestyle was unfortunately cancelled due to unsafe weather conditions.
With a scheduled trip to Spindleruv Mlyn (CZE) also cancelled due to snowpack issues in the area, and only the season-ender in Silvaplana (SUI) from 21-23 March on the menu, the 2023/24 FIS Snowboard World Cup was faced with the possibility of only having a two-event slopestyle season and thus being unable to award crystal globes for this winter’s campaign.
