Job Description
The University of Nevada has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Coach, Men’s and Women’s Alpine Ski. This position is directly responsible for practice and competition coaching and staff management of assistant coaches. The head coach is primarily responsible for teaching and training of technical information related to the performance of the sport, instruction related to technique of the sport, student-athlete conditioning, and tutoring regarding practice methods and imparting strategies for competing. This position is responsible for recruitment and retention of student-athletes, public relations, program promotion and program administration.
Nevada men’s and women’s alpine skiing, competes at the Division I level as a member of the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association (RMISA) alongside Alaska Anchorage, Alaska Fairbanks, Colorado, Colorado Mountain College, Denver, Montana State, Utah, Westminster College, and Wyoming.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related work experience; Or Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience.
Related Experience: team coaching experience (note: some positions may require team coaching experience at an NCAA I, II, III, NAIA, Junior College or high school level) or related/professional level experience
Certification and Licensure
- Must pass the NCAA Recruit Test
