Cardrona 2023 Park & Pipe Junior World Championships: 10 days to go

The final countdown is on for the biggest snowsports event since the end of the World Cup season, as there are now just 10 days left until the start of competition at the 2023 FIS Park & Pipe Junior World Championships in Cardrona, New Zealand.
The world’s very best 14-18 year old freeski and snowboard athletes will soon be on hand in Cardrona and ready to battle it out for gold at one of the southern hemisphere’s premier freestyle resorts, with the added bonus of competing as part of the southern hemisphere’s largest winter sports event – the Winter Games NZ.
This season will mark the third time that Cardrona has hosted the FIS Junior World Championships, after hugely successful turns in 2010 and 2018.
While the “Pipe” portion of this year’s JWCs will unfortunately not be taking place due to a lack of early season snowfall leading to insufficient preparation time for Championships-worthy halfpipe, the slopestyle and big air venues in Cardrona are shaping up nicely, and will no doubt offer a suitable playground for these hotly anticipated competitions.
