SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
The Para Alpine Team Assistant Coach is responsible for advancing Para Alpine national team athletes to the highest ranks of Para Alpine competition through National Level races, World Cup, World Championships, and Paralympic Competition. The position reports to the Para Alpine Head Coach and may work closely with the Para Sport Director and development program coaches to create opportunities for a stronger pipeline development system.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Athlete Experience
- Contribute to the implementation and success of the Para Alpine Team’s annual program
- Develop a productive working relationship with each athlete
- Manage athletes’ conditioning and recovery and / or Equipment Service during all training and racing projects
- Assist in coordination with the High Performance and Medical departments regarding injuries, athlete rehabilitation and program integration
- Operational Excellence
- Understand and agree with the vision and mission of U.S. Ski & Snowboard and uphold the core values
- Assist the Head Coach with all on-hill training and racing responsibilities
- Assist Head Coach with video, timing, and equipment management
- Assist Head Coach in preparing evaluations of every training and racing project
- Work proactively with all Para Sport staff and all departments of U.S. Ski & Snowboard
- Participate on staff at select national development projects and initiatives
- Assist in the education and development of professional coaches at the club level
- Continue to pursue knowledge and education of alpine ski racing, para sport, and athletic development
- Financial Performance
- Submit timely expense reports and assist with reconciling each project upon completion
- Work with the Head Coach to stay within the established budget

COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE
- Past Para Alpine experience NOT required, but willingness to learn and be creative is required
- U.S. Ski & Snowboard Level 200 coaches certification preferred
- PSIA certification preferred
- Evidence of athlete management, accounting, communication, and organization skills required
- Demonstrated technical coaching knowledge and proven ability to advance athletes required
- Team player who demonstrates loyalty to the organization and the whole athletic program required
- Computer skills, including video analysis, email, spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software required
- Experience coaching at multiple levels: international, domestic FIS, and club levels preferred
- U.S. Ski & Snowboard Referee Level 2 officials’ certification preferred

TRAVEL 70%
SALARY $55k-$65k
