Gyda Westvold Hansen is the winner of the first Individual Gundersen in Schonach (GER).

The Norwegian was already in the lead after the Ski Jumping competition on the Langenwaldschanze HS100 today.

In winterly weather the Overall World Cup leader jumped the furthest distance of the day with 101.5 meters (134.3 pts) in the morning in Schonach (GER) and took the lead. Therefore, she was the first one to start into the 5 km cross-country race at the Wittenbach stadium this afternoon.

Rank 2 after jumping went to local hero Svenja Würth from Germany, who landed at 97 meters (127.3 pts) and went into the course 28 seconds after the leader.

Her German team mate Jenny Nowak (96.5 mts, 123 pts) placed third 45 seconds behind Hansen.

While Hansen ran a lonely race at the top, the fight for the other two podium positions was way more exciting.

Würth tried to keep the gap to Hansen as short as possible, but Nowak, Yuna Kasai and Nathalie Armbruster rushed up from behind. They caught up with the German during the first lap, so after 3.7 km Yuna Kasai (+45.5 sec) was in second place, closely followed by Nowak (+47.8 sec), while Würth fell behind.

While Hansen celebrated her 15th World Cup victory, Nowak was able to break away from her competitor and finished second, 1:02 min behind and reached the World Cup podium for the first time. Meanwhile, Kasai secured the third place for Japan 1:07 min behind the winner.
