Historic Summer Ski Area Unexpectedly Closed Today

Beartooth Basin Summer Ski Area, WY welcomed skiers last weekend for the first time in two years. Unfortunately, due to terrible visibility and pouring rain, the ski area will not open today, June 2nd, 2023.
Check out the social media post by Beartooth announcing the closure below. It shows just how bad visibility is right now:

Bummer, bummer, bummer. Bummer all around for anybody that hoped to ski Beartooth today. The forecast isn’t looking too great either.
The National Weather Service is calling for heavy rain and mild temps to hit Beartooth Basin and the surrounding area for the next few days.
Beartooth relies on the deep snowpack to offer skiing in the summer. If the weather keeps up like this, the ski area’s season might be over sooner than they hoped.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed that isn’t the case.
