WEST LEBANON, N.H. – May 11, 2023 – Legendary ski racing brand, Nordica today announced its Dobermann Spring Test schedule. Racers of all abilities will be able to demo Nordica’s all-new 5th generation Dobermann race boots, as well as new Dobermann skis ahead of the 2024 race season.

“Since 1999, Dobermann has defined Nordica racing, and we are thrilled to launch our new 2024 collection, especially the 5th generation of our all-new Dobermann boots,” said Sam Beck, Nordica North America’s business unit director. “After years of relentless R&D, the Doby 5 is loaded with more performance than ever, and we want to give all racers an opportunity to get in them.”

The Dobermann 5 Tour has been zig zagging across the country this spring and will conclude with two final stops, one at Mammoth, California (May 27 – June 30), and the second at Mt. Hood, Oregon (June 9-30). Be sure to register ahead of time to reserve your boots and skis (registration and location details below).

Nordica’s Dobermann is no stranger to standing atop the World Cup podium. Armed with an even more anatomically correct fit, the Dobermann 5 series offers unrivaled precision and response. Its shell maximizes power and control while the boot’s Bi-Injected Racing Spine delivers unparalleled support. The especially thin, liners cradle the contours of your foot and securely anchors your heel, creating the perfect marriage between your foot, liner, and shell.

The eight-model Dobermann line consists of two different collections—four designated with “RD” in the model names built around a narrow 93mm last, and four using a slightly wider 96mm last. Both collections use the same exact high-performance shell designs, technologies, and features all working to make you faster. MSRP for the collection ranges from $599.99 to $899.99.

Key features of the all-new Dobermann 5 line include…

  • Overall reduced shell volume, especially in the midfoot and heel areas to improve edge feel
  • The sole length is reduced by 5mm, enhancing shell stability, and enabling skis to flex more naturally
  • An all-new cuff consisting of two different plastic densities Bi-injected to form a strong spine as well as resulting in a smooth predictable flex
  • Dobermann 5 RD models are spec’d with Nordica’s all-new patented Heel Link Lace Race Fit liner consisting of a band stitched at the back of the liner’s heel connected directly to the lacing system. Securing the laces wraps the contours of the foot and pulls the heel back and into the heel pocket. Heel Link technology and a slim Velcro front closure ensures the liner and tibia are in sync.
  • Doberman 5 models come with the new Race Laced liner with laces and a slim Velcro front closure ensuring the liner and tibia are in sync.
  • Flex nomenclature for the collection is ES for extra stiff, S (stiff), M (medium), and Soft (soft).
  • Dobermann 5 RD and Dobermann 5 lines both have a lower cuff model
