Gyda Westvold Hansen is also the winner of the women’s last World Cup competition of the 2022/23 season, securing her 10th victory in the 10th Individual event this winter.
The Norwegian was already in the lead after the Ski Jumping competition on the Midtstubakken HS 106 on Thursday.
Under a blue sky the Norwegian jumped the furthest distance of the day with 103.5 meters (132.4 pts) in the evening at the Miststubakken HS106 and took the lead. Therefore, she was the first one to start into the 5 km at the Holmenkollen Arena today.
Rank 2 after jumping went to Anju Nakamura from Japan, who landed at 94.5 meters (117.2 pts) and went into the course 1:01 min after Hansen.
Annika Sieff (94 mts, 113.8 pts) placed third, 1:14 min behind the leader.
After a rest day on Friday, the final 5 km race at the traditional Holmenkollen Arena took place in bright sunshine this afternoon.
Hansen ran a lonely race at the front, uncatchable for her pursuers. Anju Nakamura also confidently defended her second place up to the 3.3 km mark, while Ida Marie Hagen rushed up from behind and continuously reduced the gap.
Annika Sieff couldn’t keep up the pace and fell behind, while the Norwegian finally caught up with Nakamura and passed her on the final lap.
While Hansen celebrated her first win in front of a home crowd in Oslo and proved once again why she’s unbeatable this season, Hagen (+46.8 sec) took second place for Norway as well.
Nakamura (+54.4 sec) placed third, reaching her first podium of the season.
Gyda Westvold Hansen is also the winner of the FIS Nordic Combined Overall World Cup for the second time in a row and received the Crystal Globe.
In addition, she was the first female Nordic Combined athlete to be honored with the coveted King’s Trophy of the Norwegian royal family.
Ida Marie Hagen is the winner of the Best Skier Trophy, while Hansen also defended the title of Best Jumper.
In the Nations Cup, Norway took the team victory and received the Crystal Globe for the 2022/23 season.
The Nordic Combined women’s World Cup season has now come to an end with this special event in Oslo.
