It is with great sadness that FIS learned of the passing of 2021 FIS Freestyle Ski Aerials World Champion Pavel Krotov (RUS) this past Saturday as reported by the Russian Freestyle Federation (FFR).

“Many people remember Pavel as a kind, sympathetic and courageous person. The FFR team presents its deep and sincere condolences to the family, relatives and colleagues of Pavel Krotov”, the federation said in a press release.

The athlete’s cause of death was not specified.

30-year-old aerials skier was a member of the 2021 Almaty World Championships gold medal team and also won the bronze medal in the individual event.

In 46 World Cup starts, Krotov collected six podiums and two victories. He also participated in the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi and Pyeongchang.

FIS would like to extend its deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Pavel.
