After extreme cold temperatures pushed back the start of the Montana State Invitational at Bridger bowl, the series was deemed canceled after the women’s first run. A combination of poor snow and cold weather was the culprit. The races will be attempted to be made up later in the season.

Despite the cancellation, the ladies were able to finish their first run of the two-day GS series. Since the women completed one run, the results counted as an official college race and counted towards NCAA Championship qualifications.

Utah’s sophomore Kaja Norbye took away the win and captured her first collegiate gold. She edged out Westminster Griffin Evelina Fredricsson by 0.05 seconds. Third place was the Swede Emma Hammergaard skiing for Colorado University.

The overall team scoring remains unclear without a men’s race. Utah led the MSU Invitational following the Nordic races. The RMISA will officially announce updates on team scoring.

Next, the teams head to Colorado for the CU Invite at Eldora on Feb 9-10, with the DU Invitational immediately following Feb 11-12 at Loveland Ski Area.
