Les Deux Alpes ready to kick-off the FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup season

Riders ready…attention…go! This is the sound we were all missing so much and which is finally back starting with the first race tomorrow, 3rd of December 2022 in France.

The highly anticipated FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup season starts a bit later than expected in the French Alpes at Les Deux Alpes, where the best snowboard cross athletes will come together to finally battle for the podium in the newly built cross course.

Les Deux Alpes is not only one of our new venues on the calendar but also one of the highest ski areas in the Alpes. With the start being at almost 3400m, a length of 1100m and 24 elements it will for sure be a challenging season start for our athletes. As it is the first race at this venue let`s see who is strong enough to write snowboard cross history and will be the first woman and man ever winning a Cross World Cup in this beautifully snow-covered place, Les Deux Alpes.

The team of Les Deux Alpes worked hard to make everything possible to postpone the races from originally planned for end of November 2022 to the first weekend of December. And therefore “A big thank you go to the Organising Committee and to all the volunteers, who did a tremendous job in producing the snow and getting the venue ready”, says Johan Eliasch, FIS president.

Overall, the races in Les Deux Alpes are kicking-off the snowboard cross phase before Christmas, consisting of 4 competitions within 18 days and three countries.

The weather gods are good to us and we can expect a sunny qualification going down on Friday, 02 December at 11:30 CET and good conditions for the finals which are set for Saturday, 03 December at 11:30 CET.

Live on TV: ORF SPORT+ (AUT), Eurosport 2 (Europe), V Sport 1 Suomi (FIN), L’Equipe 21 (FRA), ARD (GER), RAI SPort (ITA), ZIGGO Docu (NED), V Sport 2 (POL), Teledeparte (ESP), V-Sport Vinter (SWE)
