Eva Pinkelnig was the best during Sunday’s competition in Zao – 96 and 98.5 meters and 230.1 points. Selina Freitag was 1.3 points behind Eva with 98.5 and 98 meters gave her 228.8 points what gave her best career result. Third place went to Norway’s Anna Odine Stroem (95 and 96.5 m; 220.1 pts), who crowned a great result from her team.

Norwegians showed great performance today- Silje Opseth finished fourth, just 0.3 points behind Stroem, and Thea Minyan Bjoerseth achieved her best World Cup result in fifth. Nika Kriznar was once again the best Slovenian in sixth place and was joined by teammate Nika Prevc in the top ten.

Between the two Slovenians, Katharina Althaus finished seventh, even she was just 3.7 points off the podium. Austria was the only country besides the Norwegian, which brought three jumpers into the top ten: Sara Marita Kramer was ninth for the first time after five competitions without a top ten place, Chiara Kreuzer jumped up from position 14 in the final top 10. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger was 19th, while Hannah Wiegele did not qualify for more than 41st place and missed out on entering the competition. Other German’s athlethes were: Anna Rupprecht (13th), Pauline Heßler (22nd) and Luisa Görlich (24th).

Abigail Strate finished on twelfth place. Loutitt was able to make up five places in the second run and achieved a decent result in 15th place, but missed out on a top position in the first run. There her trainer Janko Zwitter shortened by two gates to score bonus points, but the attempt failed with 88.5 meters. The Japanese, meanwhile, had little reason to celebrate, especially after Sara Takanashi was disqualified in the final for wearing a suit that was too big. Then, Yuka Seto was the 14th best Japanese.

No points, but at least the best World Cup results for the two Americans Josie Johnson and Samantha Macuga, who both qualified for an individual competition for the first time and finished 36th and 40th. China’s Liangyao Wang equaled her best World Cup result with 39th place.
