Erna Low, the UK’s oldest ski holiday company is celebrating a very special landmark, clocking up 90 years of organising ski trips to the Alps from the UK this winter.
Miss Low’s first group ski trip to Solden in the Austrian Tirol at Christmas 1932 followed her placing an advertisement in The Times of London.
It seems a fitting tribute to her pioneering spirit that the company she founded is celebrating this milestone by expanding their ski holiday choice this winter to include Austria …as well as Italy, Bulgaria and Canada.
Along with more than 30 new chalets available on a self-catering basis in France Erna Low is offering three new hotels in Kitzbuhel and another hotel with apartments in Mayrhofen, Austria.
There are also three new hotels in Bansko, a new residence and a new hotel in Cervinia, Italy as well as six new hotels in Whistler, Canada. The company has also announced new partnerships with Interhome.
“I’ve been at Erna Low for half my lifetime so if you cut me in half I would have Erna Low written down the middle like you would with a stick of rock! I love the history of the
company and the pioneering spirit of Miss Low herself is an inspiration to me,” said Product Director Jane Bolton, adding “Our mission remains to provide good value ski and snowboard holidays with exceptional customer service from our knowledgeable team,” who added, “With all the experience we have garnered over the years, we love to share our passion for the mountains with our clients to find the right holiday for them.”
Miss Erna Low’s original ski holiday groups travelled by rail but these days the core market for the company she founded is self-drive and self-catering ski holidays to France. The company’s clients can continue to book a Eurotunnel Flexiplus inclusive package and add on equipment hire, ski school and ski passes or they can pick and choose what they would like to add.
