South American Cup races begin with excitement
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Grand Prix La Parva, part of the Visa Chile Winter Series by Ford circuit, summoned the best athletes from more than 12 nations to the mythical “Barros Negros” speed track at Ski La Parva.

Speeds of more than 130 km/h, 30-meter jumps and a lot of adrenaline gathered during 4 days for the races valid for the South American Cap, international circuit, which grants quotas for the World Cup and is part of the world circuit of competitions endorsed by the International Ski Federation (FIS).

One of the most outstanding international figures of this version was Johan Clarey (FRA), silver medalist in the recent Beijing 2022 Olympic Games, who won the Super Giant race. Likewise, the Chilean sprinter and Ski La Parva ambassador, Henrik Von Appen had an outstanding performance in the downhill disciplines, obtaining 2 second places, in addition to a 4th place in today’s Super Giant, strongly preparing his preparation for the World Cup circuit, to be held in the United States and Europe.

In the women’s category, the Austrian team won first and second place in downhill, with Sabrina Maier and Vanessa Nussbaumer, respectively.

In the Super Giant discipline, the skier of the American team Tricia Mangan won ahead of the Albanian Lara Colturi, former child world champion and daughter of the Italian Olympic medalist Daniela Cecarelli.

The Chile Winter Series includes more than 10 events in 5 different Olympic disciplines such as alpine skiing, freeskiing, snowboarding, cross and cross country throughout the season in the main ski resorts of the country.

This winter sports circuit is a reality thanks to the support of the National Ski and Snowboard Sports Federation of Chile, as well as the National Sports Institute (IND), and the brands Visa, Ford, Credit Suisse, Monster Energy, Snickers, Hard Rock Hotels, Radio Bio Bio, Flesad, Hd Sports Magazine, Cerveza Tropera, Guayaki and Chilenieve.
