Gyda Westvold Hansen is the winner of the final FIS Summer Grand Prix competition in Tschagguns (AUT), while Ema Volavsek became overall champion.

The Norwegian was already in the lead after the Ski Jumping competition on the HS108 in the morning.

The Montafon Nordic Sports Center welcomed 20 athletes from 8 nations with bright sunshine in the morning.
After rainy and windy conditions yesterday, teams and spectators enjoyed the weather change for the last competition in Tschagguns.

Gyda Westvold Hansen took the lead in Ski Jumping with 96.5 meters (115.8 pts) and was the first one to start into the final rollerski race this afternoon.

Rank 2 after jumping went to Minja Korhonen from Finland, who landed at 98 meters (108.3 pts), the furthest distance of the day, and went into the course 30 seconds after the Norwegian.

Yesterday’s second Jenny Nowak (93.5 mts, 103.3 pts) placed third, 50 seconds behind the leader.

Overall Summer Grand Prix leader Ema Volavsek also reached 98 m (101.6 pts), but lost some points due to better wind conditions. She finished the Ski Jumping round on 6th place with a 57 sec distance to Hansen.

The Norwegian ran a lonely race at the top and kept her pursuers at a safe distance.
Korhonen managed to reduce the gap to 21.5 seconds after 3.3 km, but wasn’t able to catch Hansen during the final lap.
Meanwhile, Ema Volavsek showed another strong race and was already on third position (+38 sec) after 1.7 km.

In the end, Hansen reached the finish line first, 25.8 seconds ahead of Korhonen on place two. Volavsek (+43 sec) defended her podium position as well as her overall lead and is the women’s Grand Prix winner 2022.

After many amazing competitions in three venues, the FIS Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix came to an end. Fans can now look forward to the the start of the women’s World Cup season in December in Lillehammer (NOR).
