Gyda Westvold Hansen is the winner of Oberstdorfs night race 2022.

The Norwegian was already in the lead after the Ski Jumping competition on the HS106 today.

In rainy weather last years Overall World Cup winner jumped the furthest distance of the day with 105 meters (126.6 pts) in the Audi Arena this morning and took the lead. Therefore, she was the first one to start into the 5 km rollerski race through the Oberstdorf city course this afternoon.

The second rank after jumping went to the current owner of the red bib als Best Skier Nathalie Armbruster from Germany, who landed at 99.5 meters (115.3 pts) and went into the course 45 seconds after Hansen.

Overall Summer Grand Prix leader Ema Volavsek (98 mts, 115.1 pts) placed third with a 46 second backlog to the leader.

Best Jumper Minja Korhonen (95.5 mts, 115.1 pts) from Finland placed 4th and started the race 1:03 minutes behind the current leader from Norway.

Hansen showed a strong performance on roller skis through Oberstdorf and brought her lead into the finish.
Nathalie Armbruster had some difficulties at the start and couldn’t defend her lead over Volavsek, who overtook the young German on the first round.
The Slovenian tried to close the gap to the leader from Norway and reduced the distance to 33.1 sec after 1.8 km.
Meanwhile, Armbruster couldn’t follow and was already 40.3 seconds behind at the first timekeeping.

The distances stayed the same for the second lap through Oberstdorf, so that Hansen was still in lead after 3.5 km going into the last lap.
In the end the Norwegian dominator from last season, reached the finish line in the Audi Arena, in front of numerous fans, 58.4 seconds ahead of Volavsek on rank two.
Armbruster (+1:12 min) placed third and lost her red bib as Best Skier to Volavsek, who also keeps the yellow bib as overall Summer Grand Prix leader. Next stop: Tschagguns (AUT)!
