Since 1937, the Lyndon Outing Club in Vermont has served as a place for locals to learn how to ski & ride. It will now also be a place for them to learn to mountain bike.
The ski hill opened up a free mountain biking park on Saturday. The trails are not lift-serviced, as there is a steep .5-mile uphill line. The downhill routes are a primary .8-mile downhill run known as Mo’s Route, and a skills park and jump line near the end of Mo’s Route.
The other giant project that the Lyndon Outing Club is working on is adding a snowmaking system for the first time ever. It’s frankly remarkable that a New England ski hill has been able to remain open without snowmaking for eighty-five years, but LOC has a resilient community that’s behind it. The new snowmaking system would be focused on getting the Face trail open.
