Lukas Greiderer injured his ankle during roller ski training this week.
The Austrian fell while roller skiing on the bike path through a pebble that blocked one of the rollers and twisted his left ankle. During a more detailed examination on Tuesday, at the Hochrum Sanatorium, a collateral ligament tear in the left ankle was diagnosed.
The injury does not require surgery and can be treated conservatively, for which the 29-year-old has to wear a splint. With a training and competition break of about four weeks, the Olympic bronze medalist from Beijing will miss this year’s Summer Grand Prix, which starts in Oberwiesenthal (GER) in ten days.
