New Sculpture Above Val di Fassa

A new sculpture, the latest to adorn ski slopes, has appeared in the Italian Dolomites.
The beautiful sculpture of the ‘Signora di Dolèda’ has been installed 2382m up on a rock spur at Col dei Rossi at the exit of the “Alba-Col dei Rossi” lift which ascends from Alba di Canazei to Pecolin in Val di Fassa, part of the Dolomiti Superski region.
The metal sculpture is 3.5 metres (12 feet) high sculpture is described as, “very light and elegant, almost floating, so much so that it moves in the wind and glistens in the sun.”

The sculpture has been created by artist Andrea Dorigatti.
“We would like the sculpture to become the first in a high-altitude itinerary – a project we care about and hope will develop,” a spokesperson for the local lift company said.
The Lady of Dolèda is a key figure in some legends of the local Ladin region.
