SR Staff Report
Below is a camp update from Alta Badia Ski Academy summer training.
Federiga “Fed” Bindi is an expert at providing high-value summer camps for FIS-level athletes and advanced U16s. Bindi is based in Italy and takes advantage of all the Ortler Alps can offer. She intends to provide the highest quality to a small number of athletes over a significant period. She recommended that athletes plan on a minimum of three weeks of participation. When athletes are there for a significant amount of time, Bindi finds many ways to take advantage of the amazing places they visit.
Bindi shares her observation on the summer
There is no doubt that training in Europe this summer has been challenging, with conditions constantly changing and glaciers closing one after the other. Yet, the work one can do in the summer on glaciers is different from any other circumstance – it’s the real foundation for the season to come.
Umberto Capitani and Karl-Heinz’ at Stelvio went above and beyond to create the opportunity for our athletes to train in optimal conditions. Against all odds, we succeeded to train for a whole month, alongside the likes of Katharina Liensberger and Sara Hector.
Off-snow, we used the beautiful Dolomites as our playground: we swam, hiked, and even climbed a few ferratas.
We will have some much-needed rest and gym work before we hit the Stelvio slopes again in mid-September!
