After sustaining three concussions in two years and facing all the fear and stress that goes with it, 23-year-old Oskar Elofsson (SWE) have made a decision to hang up his boots and retire from competitive skiing.
“It breaks my heart having to step out knowing that I have so much more to give but the risks are too high and health goes first, always,” said Elofsson in his statement on social media.
“I am endlessly thankful for all the support I have received throughout this journey. My friends and family, my irreplaceable team mates and coaches, physios, doctors, sponsors and all my amazing fellow athletes on tour that I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world with. And thank you mogul skiing. Thank you for showing me the world, for all the friendships, for teaching me invaluable lessons and pushing me to my limits. I have enjoyed every moment and I am forever grateful. Thank you for the best years of my life.”
