Alpine – Team Summit Colorado, Copper Mountain, Colo. (Gold Certified Club)
Team Summit Colorado is Alpine Club of the Year. Under the leadership of Executive Director CB Bechtel and Alpine Director Aldo Radamus, the club has developed a strong culture in its alpine ski racing program. Furthermore, it has created cost-effective, local programs for Summit County athletes.

Team Summit was recognized for providing a place in its program for every athlete to find their personal level of excellence. The result has been Team Summit athletes achieving notable success and finding the podium at every level. Out of this past season, Team Summit qualified four athletes to the National Development Group while qualifying three athletes each for the U18 and U16 national championships.

Ella Snyder, Sophia Palmquist, and Olyvia Snyder

The club is an active participant in hosting divisional relationships, utilizing its relationships with several local resorts. Additionally, It has a well-educated group of volunteer officials. Radamus and other club officials are also active on divisional, regional and national committees, as well as engaging in national projects – always looking for ways to help grow the sport.

Team Summit’s Alpine Director responds

It was a welcome surprise to learn Team Summit won the award.  However, It is humbling to be amongst the distinguished list of recipients. This recognition is an acknowledgement of the entire Alpine Community at Team Summit. It begins with the members of our programs who share their passion for ski racing with us daily. Likewise their parents who support and encourage them. And significantly the coaches from our entry level to competition programs who nurture and guide them. This award is additional validation of our efforts to create a culture of respect, hard work and fun. All while providing the opportunity for high-level personal and athletic outcomes.

Team Summit is working towards creating an inclusive and accessible club program that values athletes at every stage of development. We strive to provide the opportunity for each one to reach their personal best on and off the hill. This award is additional validation of our efforts to create a culture of respect, hard work and fun while providing the opportunity for high-level personal and athletic outcomes.

The support of our community and mountain partners at Copper Mountain, Keystone, Breckenridge and Arapahoe Basin makes our program and individual aspirations possible. There is arguably no better place to be an aspiring snow sports athlete than Summit County, Colorado.

Aldo Radamus
Team Summit Alpine Director
