June 22, 2022, Stowe, VT – Olympic medalist Ryan Cochran-Siegle was awarded the Beck International Award, USSS’ highest honor on Monday. “The Beck International Award dates back to 1931, honoring some of the greatest champions in ski and snowboard sport”, according to the premier ski and snowboard association. “In recognizing Cochran-Siegle, U.S. Ski & Snowboard acknowledged his long and patient journey. After starting his career with a Junior World Championship medal, he persevered through myriad major injuries before getting his first World Cup podium and win in the 2020-21 season …”

Ryan’s work ethic, dedication to his sport, humble demeanor, and selfless willingness to serve others are well known within the MMA community. In his own words says Ryan: Having a strong vision of what you want to accomplish … realizing that it will take an immense amount of work to accomplish. MMA: where support comes into play. As all of us at the MMA Clubhouse that day watched Ryan patiently sign autographs and speak with awestruck junior ski racers, it was not difficult to recognize his many admirable qualities at work influencing the next generation of MMA ski racing dreamers.

Mt. Mansfield Academy offers athlete-scholars the opportunity to combine high level ski racing training with rigorous academics. MMA offers a full range of Advanced Placement courses, including the College Board’s newest program, the A.P. Capstone Diploma Program, beginning in the Fall 2022. Flexibility in scheduling and personalized, individual support of our athlete-scholars by coaches and teachers are the hallmarks of MMA: “Carving Pathways to Lifelong Success On and Off the Mountain”.

Congratulations Ryan! We are proud of you!!

Igor Vanovac
Executive Director
Mt. Mansfield Academy
