An enthusiastic group of U14 ski racers are eager to welcome the next Alpine Coach to the Bogus Basin Ski Education Foundation (BBSEF). A Silver Level Certified US Ski & Snowboard Club, recognized as US Ski and Snowboard Development Club of the Year. BBSEF seeks experienced Alpine Coach for U14 and older, Alpine racers. This position reports to BBSEF Athletic Director – Shawn Smith

Outdoor enthusiasts love Boise! Bogus Basin is so much more than a ski area – it’s a year-round destination for recreation and education. Outside Magazine named Boise the “Best Rocky Mountain Secret.” Skiers, Snowboarders, Mountain bikers, hikers and runners have easy access to our mountain along with an extensive Ridge to Rivers Trail System right outside their doors. The Boise River and Greenbelt bike and pedestrian path wind through town. Surf or kayak The Wave at Esther Simplot Park. Float the river during the summer or take a short drive to bigger adventures on the South Fork Payette or Salmon rivers.

Qualified Candidates:

  • Must be an advanced/expert level Alpine Skier
  • Required to have a Level 100 or higher US Ski and Snowboard Coaching Certification
  • Must be members in good standing with US Ski & Snowboard
  • Must have strong communication skills • Must have effective organizational skills
  • Must have experience with alpine ski racing and training
  • Must be willing and able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be willing to collaborate with BBSEF coaching staff and IMD officials
  • Must have ability to organize, direct and lead a group of athletes
  • Must have a desire to learn, be driven for success and have a willingness to accept feedback.
  • Must enjoy in working with children of all ages

The employee is regularly required to:

  • Stand for periods up to eight hours at a time in ski/snowboard boots
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Talk and hear through walkie-talkies
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close/distant vision
  • Demonstrate ability to perform multiple tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Lift up to fifty pounds.
  • Ski/ride at an advanced level
  • Use basic computer and word processing skills
  • Perform essential duties efficiently and accurately, with or without reasonable accommodations and without injury to incumbent or others
