Turns out Snowbirds Aerial Tram is getting more than just new cabins. The Utah ski resort released its first video update on the progress of its tram modernization. The video touches on the improvements being made outside of the new tram cabins. Some of the replacements include a new bullwheel with a hydrostatic drive, state-of-the-art electric gates at the top and bottom terminals that will open automatically, new driving controls, new braking controls, and a new drive bullwheel.

The video doesn’t show off the new tram cabins that are also a part of the project. Some of the cool features of the tram cabins will include a fourteen-person rooftop balcony on the top of the tram during the summer, floor-to-ceiling windows, and three sections of 3×3 glass floor panels during the summertime. The tram is expected to reopen in late June.
