Especially at Drammen World Cup, Maiken shared a special bond with the Sprint in Classic technique. She participated in the city event throughout the 12 years of her career and won the event during 6 occasions.
But Maiken Caspersen Falla recorded equally successful results in the FIS World Ski Championships where she took place in 7 editions and since Val di Fiemme 2013 has always landed a podium spot in the Sprint competition.
The double World Champion in individual events also collected three more Gold medals with the team and a total of five more title event medals.
Also at Olympic Winter Games, Maiken brought home a full set of medals throughout her career. From Vancouver 2010 to Beijing 2022, six participations ensured five top-10 results, including a Gold, Silver and Bronze medal.
Maiken has always been a very valuable athlete in the Cross-Country World Cup family and inspired, supported and looked after the youngest member of the World Cup circuit. Her skiing was unparalleled thus, the small Sprint Crystal Globes, that she won in three consecutive seasons, were a great prove of her strengths.
With many great memories from the past 12 years, the FIS family wishes Maiken that her experiences from her life as one of the worlds best Cross-Country skiers will inspire her in the same way that she influenced the FIS Cross-Country World Cup. All the very best for whatever comes next in life.
