Women will get a 4-Hills-Tournament

The first women’s 4-Hills-Tournament shall be held in the 2023/24 winter season, this agreement was reached by the German and the Austrian Ski Association in cooperation with the officials of the International Ski Federation FIS.
After long discussions, there will also be a women’s Ski Jumping Tournament around New Year’s with events in Germany and Austria. The time until the first competition of the women’s Tournament shall now be used to solve the basic issues with all the stakeholders.
It is planned that the opening event will be held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on the same day as the men’s opening competition in Oberstdorf. The second women’s event, the New Year’s competition, shall take place in Oberstdorf.
It’s still open how the Tournament will continue in Austria. The Austrian Ski Association is currently checking various options at the possible venues. According to the Austrian Ski Association, the women’s Tournament shall be established as a top competition series, similar to the traditional men’s 4-Hills-Tournament.
In their meeting, the German and Austrian Ski Associations and the FIS also agreed that there shall be another series included in the women’s Ski Jumping World Cup. This shall create an attractive platform for the organizers that are currently on the World Cup calendar on the dates of the 4-Hills-Tournament later in the season.
