Canadian Ski Team member and Montana State Bobcat Riley Seger finished the season with the final NorAm GS win of the year, solidifying his place as NorAm GS champion.

The college junior has competed in quite the season across NorAms, University, and World Cup races. At 24-years of age, Seger finished his season with his first NorAm win in the discipline on Saturday and extended his lead for a guaranteed World Cup spot for next year.

“After losing a few days prior due to weather, we ended up with a wide variety of snow conditions on the track,” said Seger. “Fighting hard and winning a World Cup spot for next season is going to be extremely beneficial to our team. I believe that we have an extremely strong group right now, and having more World Cup starts will provide more of our team the opportunities to show how fast we are.”

His teammate Liam Wallace, the current overall leader, has been neck and neck throughout the season for the GS title. With two solid runs to land in first, Seger pulled ahead in the standings for a total of 403 points, just 25 points ahead of Wallace.
Behind Seger in the NorAm final race at Sugarloaf Mountain was former U.S. Ski Team member George Steffey. Steffey, who competes for Global Racing, was sitting in second behind teammate Patrick Kenney after the first run. Kenney and Steffey had held off Seger before falling off the pace in the second run. Steffey overtook Kenney by 0.14 seconds for the silver with Kenney rounded out the podium in third.

U.S. Ski Team development member Cooper Puckett was the top junior of the day in 13th position, 2.03 seconds behind Seger.

The women head to the circuit on Sunday for their GS race followed by the final slalom races on Monday for men and women.
