The 31 year-old top Sprinter from Switzerland had already announced to step back from professional skiing last autumn along with Dario Cologna and Laurien van der Graaff.
For 12 seasons, Hediger put up some of the strongest performances in the Sprints along the World Cup. He has been in the top ranks on multiple occasions and has put all his heart into racing. Jovian Hediger, who always turned up with as an upright and honest athlete, has often connected his successes or defeat with many emotions.
Jovian did not hold back when he wrote history for the Swiss Cross-Country Team in Ulricehamn’s TeamSprint in 2021. With the second place, the duo landed the first ever TeamSprint podium of Men for Switzerland in the World Cup. It was a remarkable achievement for the Team and for Hediger as an individual athlete too.
