This year, a “Fairplay Award” was also presented.
The special award went to the press attaché of the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV), Clemens Derganc, for his selfless commitment at the start of the season in Ruka (FIN).
After Vinzenz Geiger had forgotten his transponders, but noticed this before the start and ran back to the team area, the Austrian didn’t hesitate and threw the transponders the German had left behind, over the fence to Geiger to safe time, allowing him to return to the start in time and even achieve a podium finish in the end.
This transnational, fair gesture should not go unnoticed, as it is a symbol of the strong cohesion in the Nordic Combined family.

The awards were presented after the final competitions in Schonach (GER).
