Austria, with Chiara Kreuzer, Jacqueline Seifriedsberger, Lisa Eder and current World Cup leader Marita Kramer claimed the home win during the team competition in Hinzenbach. The second and third place went to Russia and Slovenia.

After the extreme cold conditions in China, athletes had spring temperatures in Austria but the day started with the bitter news of the 4 competitions canceled, all related to Russian Blue Bird Tournament. The International Ski Federation FIS had cancelled all competitions of the current season in Russia in interest of the safety of all participants and to maintain the integrity of the World Cup.

Marita Kramer who had to miss the Olympic Games in Beijing due to a Covid-19 infection, was in excellent form and in the end ensured a clear victory for Austria who was missing teammates Daniela Iraschko-Stolz and Eva Pinkelnig. In the end, as explained by Lisa Eder, they managed to score 819 points in total and were all very happy with the victory, especially in a home event.

Winning silver medal during the Olympics in mixed-team, Russian Irina Avvakumova and her team composed by Aleksandra Kustova, Irma Mahkinia and Sofia Tikhonova made great jumps today and were for the first time on a World Cup podium.

Gold medalist during last Olympic mixed team event, Slovenian Ursa Bogataj and Nika Kriznar dominated this competition but the disqualification in the first round of Spela Rogelj prevented the team to win. With Maja Vtic (first time on the podium) they nevertheless managed to finished third: just 35,6 points difference with the winners and 0.5 from the second place.

Missing her best athletes, (Sara Takanashi and Katharina Althaus) Japan came fourth and Germany fifth. Norway came sixth ahead of Canada and Finland.

Next competition, an individual event, starts on Saturday 26, at 13,45 CET (qualification at 12:30 am).
