Titles to Daniel Tschofenig and Nika Prevc

The women’s and men’s individual competitions were held at the Junior World Championships in Zakopane (POL) on Thursday and the titles there went to Daniel Tschofenig and Nika Prevc.

In the men’s competition, the top favorite Daniel Tschofenig of Austria claimed a clear victory. The 19-year-old, who could already achieve some very good results in the World Cup this winter, was the best in both rounds on the HS 105 normal hill with 102 m and 107 m and took the gold medal today with 311.5 points.

With this performance, Tschofenig lead a podium sweep of the strong Austrian team. Silver went to David Haagen with 102 m and 103 m and a score of 299.6 points, Markus Mueller came in third with his jumps of 100 m and 100.5 m and 287.6 points.

Luca Geyer of Germany was fourth, Iver Olaussen of Norway came in fifth and with Jonas Schuster in sixth, all four Austrians who took part in this competition finished among the Top 6 this evening.
