The standout Norwegian Snowboard Team has announced its projected squad for the 2021/22 competition season, and they’ll be lead by Aspen 2021 slopestyle World Champion, slopestyle crystal globe winner, and Park & Pipe overall crystal globe winner Marcus Kleveland.
22 year-old Kleveland had a remarkable 2020/21 season despite the challenges present by the covid-19 pandemic, and seems to be just entering his prime at the perfect time to hit the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. With the way he finished last season, Kleveland has positioned himself as a medal favourite for both slopestyle and big air events next February in China.
Along with Kleveland, the Norwegian team boasts the likes of Mons Roisland, Stale Sandbech, Hanne Eilertsen and Fridtjof Tischendorf – one of the most talented and entertaining national lineups in the world.
From the Norwegian team’s website:
“With less than a year left until the Olympics in Beijing, this year’s national team selection is extra important. In addition to having a new world champion, Norway has very many strong and interesting riders at the senior, para and recruit level. With one of the world’s best national teams, the next few years will be very exciting. Precisely for this reason, high demands are placed on being part of the squad and access to the support apparatus provided by the space.”
