Norway and Austria dominate in Eisenerz

On Saturday the Mixed Team event took place. Four athletes per team accomplished one jump, followed by a 2.5 km lap for the women and a 5 km race for the men.
Lars Ivar Skaarset, Ida Marie Hagen, Gyda Westvold Hansen and Lars Buraas Team Norway secured the victory superiorly for Norway.
Second place went to the hosts from Austria (+1 min), represented by Thomas Rettenegger, Lisa Hirner, Annalena Slamik and Lukas Klapfer. Germany (David Mach, Cindy Haasch, Sophia Maurus, Wendelin Thannheimer) placed third, 1:30 min behind the winners from Norway.

On the final day of the Continental Cup, Stefan Rettenegger celebrated a home triumph in the individual. The Tyrolean, who was eighth after the Ski Jumping round, prevailed against the two Norwegians Lars Buraas (+24.9 sec) and Lars Ivar Skaarset (+36.6 sec) with a strong cross-country race.

Gyda Westvold Hansen secured another victory in the second women’s competition, beating Italian Annika Sieff (+41.8 sec) and Ema Volavsek (+58 sec) from Slovenia one more time. Just like on Friday, the fourth rank went to German Maria Gerboth (+1:07 min).
