Home win for Fredrik Villumstad

In the first of two Continental Cup competitions this weekend in Rena, the hosting team of Norway could celebrate the home win of Fredrik Villumstad.
The 22-year-old already had a narrow lead at halftime with his first jump of 133.5 m, he was then able to defend this top position with a jump on the same distance in the final round and a total of 270.8 points. It was the second win of his career in the Continental Cup for Fredrik Villumstad, he also took his first win on home soil, in September 2021 in Oslo.

Michael Hayboeck of Austria, who was fifth after the first round with 130.5 m, posted the longest jump of the day in the final round with 136 m and finished third with his score of 268.1 points. Hayboeck was followed by his teammate Clemens Aigner in fourth.
Norway’s Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng was fifth, Kacper Juroszek of Poland, who claimed his maiden win in the COC last weekend in Brotterode, moved up from 14th to sixth in the second round this afternoon.
Eetu Nousiainen secured a very good result for Finland in seventh, Ulrich Wohlgenannt and Philipp Aschenwald were eighth and tenth and completed a strong team result of the Austrians with four ski jumpers in the Top 10. The ninth place went to Slovenia’s Domen Prevc.
With the eighth place today, Ulrich Wohlgenannt (753 points) defend his overall lead in the COC. Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng (712 points) and Thomas Lackner (558 points) remain in second and third place.
The second competition in Rena starts on Sunday at 10 am CET.
