A Former New York Ski Area

Looking to own a former ski area with views of Whiteface? For the Love of Old Homes have topped themselves again with this insane find in the Adirondacks. This 1140 acre estate costs nearly $7 million and features three bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and three half bathrooms. There are two separate buildings on the property: a four-story mountaintop home with views of Whiteface, and the old base lodge that has various buildings that are connected to it.

The outdoor activities are plentiful: hiking, nordic skiing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and skiing. It’s unclear if a lift can still be built on the property, but worst-case scenario, you can skin up the slopes. The ski area, known as Paleface/Bassett Mountain, operated from 1961 until the early 1980s. The ski resort featured eleven runs, two lifts, night skiing, and a base lodge with a restaurant, bar, and indoor pool.

Some additional photos, along with an old trail map of the ski resort, are below…
