Beijing 2022: Men’s alpine combined preview

[ad_1]

With the women’s tech events completed and the men’s speed events completed, we move onto the men’s alpine combined.

As reigning Olympic champion, Marcel Hirscher (AUT) has retired, he will not be able to defend his title, which leaves the opportunity for another racer to grab it. At the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang (KOR), Alexis Pinturault (FRA) claimed the silver medal, whilst compatriot Victor Muffat-Jeandet (FRA) claimed the bronze.

The last alpine combined race was at the 2021 World Championships in Cortina d’Ampezzo (ITA), where Austrian, Marco Schwarz (AUT) took the victory. 2nd and 3rd place were claimed by Alexis Pinturault and Loic Meillard (SUI) respectively.

With the playing field wide open, all is fair game in tomorrow’s men’s alpine combined. Racing is scheduled to start tomorrow, Thursday 10th, with the first run at 10:30 local time / 03:30 CET and the second run at 14:15 local time / 07:15 CET.
