The men’s portion of the competition also provided tons of entertainment for all the fans on site and those in front of their screens at home, with Dmitrii Loginov extending the winning streak for the Russian team on the venue in Scuol to four consecutive victories. With Andrey Sobolev taking top spot twice in 2019 and 2022 and Igor Sluev winning last year, it was time for Loginov to shine on the Ftaner slope in the Motta Naluns ski area.

In the afternoon’s finals Loginov faced some tough competition in the likes Oskar Kwiatkowski (POL), Andreas Prommegger (AUT) and Mirko Felicetti (ITA) on his way to the big final. Once there, last season’s PGS World Champion from Rogla faced Stefan Baumeister (GER) and it was the second time this season that this duo met in the big final matchup.

This time, however, it was the Russian rider who came on top of this final showdown, despite all the effort from the German rider. And while it all looked like it was Baumeister, who would take another victory on Saturday, he went out of the course just two gates before the finish line, leaving  Loginov with his first top spot in 2021/22.

Baumeister’s second place was his third top-3 finish in the campaign.

The current PGS World Cup leader Sangho Lee (KOR) completed the men’s podium in third place, after coming victorious against Mirko Felicetti (ITA) in the small final.

With third place finish on the day Lee managed to keep his lead in the PGS standing with 280 points and now only 6 points advantage over Baumeister. Following his victory in Scuol Loginov now jumped into third place with 232 points.

The Snowboard Alpine World Cup action now moves to Austria, with back-to-back events in Bad Gastein and Simonhoehe scheduled to go down over the course of next week.
