In the first of two competitions of the Continental Cup in Oberstdorf (GER), which is a replacement for the canceled COC’s in Titisee-Neustadt (GER), the victory went to Austria’s Ulrich Wohlgenannt.

The 27-year-old, who was participating in the 4-Hills-Tournament recently but now lost his spot on the Austrian World Cup team again, posted two very strong jumps of 138.5 m and 140 m on Saturday evening and secured the win with 316.0 points. For Ulrich Wohlgenannt, this was already his 13th win in the COC, the third this season.

The other two spots on the podium today went to jumpers from Norway. Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng came in second and confirmed his strong performances in the Continental Cup recently with jumps of 138.5 m and 138 m and 305.9 points.
Bjoereng’s teammate Benjamin Oestvold, who claimed his first win right after Christmas in Engelberg, finished third in Oberstdorf with 136 m and 137.5 m and a total of 302.4 points.

The best athlete of the German team in this home competition was Philipp Raimund in fourth, followed by the third-best Norwegian today, Anders Haare in fifth.
Anze Semenic of Slovenia was sixth, right behind him, Austria’s Francisco Moerth was able to achieve a career-best result in the Continental Cup in seventh.
Slovenia’s Domen Prevc (8th), Justin Lisso of Germany (9th) and Stefan Rainer of Austria (10th) completed the Top 10 of today’s competition.

With his win, Urlich Wohlgenannt could further extend his lead in the overall ranking of the Continental Cup. With 460 points, he now has a clear lead over Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng (335 points) and Philipp Raimund (326 points).
