National championships in Slovenia and Poland

The ski jumpers of Slovenia and Poland couldn’t start their Christmas break right after last weekend before the big tasks ahead as national championships were held in both countries this week.
In the Slovenian nationals on Wednesday, the title went to Timi Zajc, who has already proven his strong shape at the moment with a third place in the World Cup in Engelberg (SUI) last weekend. The 21-year-old was the best in both rounds on the HS 138 in Planica with jumps of 137.5 m and 135 m and took the win with 306.8 points.
The second place went to Lovro Kos with 138 m and 136.5 m and 294.9 points, Cene Prevc came in third with 128 m and 136 m and a total of 283.5 points.
The Top 3 were followed by Anze Lanisek, Anze Semenic, and Peter Prevc in fourth, fifth, and sixth. The seventh place went to Ziga Jelar, who was sidelined in the fall due to a covid infection but could earn his ticket to the upcoming 4-Hills-Tournament with his performance in the championships.
The women’s competition was won by Ursa Bogataj, currently third in the overall World Cup, with 131.5 m and 132.5 m and 251.7 points, followed by Ema Klinec with 127 m and 129 m and 241.8 points and Nika Krinzar with 127.5 m and 129 m (240.2 points) in second and third.
