Another day, another Norwegian victory in Lillehammer!
Jarl Magnus Riiber was already the winner of the Ski Jumping competition at the Lysgårdsbakken H140 this morning.

The overall World Cup leader jumped the furthest distance of the day with 143 meters (149.6 pts) and went into the cross-country course 29 seconds ahead of Johannes Lamparter. The Austrian reached 140 meters and collected 142.3 points on rank two.

The third place was also taken by Austria, with the current owner of the blue bib as Best Jumper, Mario Seidl. He reached 134.5 meters (141.6 pts) and had a 32 second backlog on Riiber.

After their team victory yesterday, Norway was most likely aiming for another top result today, with Riiber being known for his strong performance on cross-country skis.

In light snowfall and low temperatures, the Norwegian started into a lonely race at Birkebeinerer Ski Stadium and kept his lead until the end. Johannes Lamparter proofed his strength on the course, slowly catching up to Riiber and therefore holding the race at a very high pace. In the end he reached the finish line only 13.5 seconds behind the Norwegian.

Meanwhile, the fight for rank three was a lot tighter. Mario Seidl was caught by Eric Frenzel and Jens Luraas Oftebro after 3 km, so the three went through the race together as a group. They also entered the stadium together, and went into a tight finish sprint.
Frenzel won the fight in the end and reached his second individual podium of the season with rank 3, 45.6 seconds behind Riiber.

With 24:56.7 min Ilkka Herola from Finland had the fastest skiing time of the day and will keep the red bib as Best Skier. Mario Seidl keeps the blue bib as Best Jumper, while Jarl Magnus Riiber defended his overall World Cup lead and yellow bib one more time.
