The two competitions of the 70th 4-Hills-Tournament in Germany will have to be held without spectators in the stands due to the stricter Covid-restrictions passed by the Bavarian authorities on Friday, December 3rd. Everyone who has already bought tickets for Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen can return them and will be refunded.
“The new regulations of the Bavarian government leave us no other choice. It’s a shame, because we have already developed a special protocol. But of course, the events of the 4-Hills-Tournament are part of professional sports and so they have to be held without specators from now on”, says Florian stern, head of the organizing committee in Oberstdorf.
If the restriction in Bavaria change within the next three weeks, the organizers are planning to react quickly. “Right now we don’t think this will happen, but we are flexible and would be able to start ticket sales again within a few hours, even if it would be shortly before Christmas”, explains Michael Maurer, chairman of the ski club in Partenkirchen and head of the organizing committee of the New Year’s event.
If Ski Jumping fans will be allowed to attend the competitions in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen, will be decided when the government in Austria updates its Covid-regulations.
